Ubuntu wicd validating authentication


The following instructions are for laptops connecting to the RPI wireless network for users who opt not to use Think Vantage Access Connections or for users with non-Lenovo machines.

First, ensure your wireless network adaptor is turned on.

Select OK in EAP MSCHAPv2 Propertiesand Protected EAP Properties to return to Wireless network properties.

Navigate to the Connection tab and check "Connect when this network is in range" under Automatic connection.

For devices with a hardware adaptor switch, such as the Think Pad T60 and T61, please be sure that the switch is physically turned on.

In the Start menu, navigate to Connect To Show all connections.

Otherwise, leave this unchecked and instead see the instructions for Connecting to the RPI Wireless Network Using Access Connections. Check Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network and select Protected EAP (PEAP) in the pull-down menu. First, uncheck Validate server certificate and check Enable Fast Reconnect.



The Network Connections window will open, showing you the network devices installed on your machine.Find your Wireless LAN adapter and be sure it is enabled either by double-clicking on the icon or right-clicking on the icon and selecting Enable.
