Australian slang for dating

I'll admit, Melbourne has an incredible coffee scene. So the first time the Aussie was in LA, he could not find ANY coffee, but after a year or so, forcefully, we found coffee shops that satisfies his coffee snobery thirst.

Leeny Wednesday 06th of July 2005 PMAussie Slang: I found that many people have become interested in learning some Aussie Slang. considered to be "The Great Australian Adjective" because of its prolific use and ability to signify approval or disapproval. bugger me shitless bugger me senseless pommie possum streuth - streuth almighty tucker/tucka sheila Abo Skip/Skyp Wog barbie There are many others I know, just giv'us a sec mate. leeny teaching slang.......i dont even know whether i read all now, i was shocked and my phobia came out : D aussie slang.....a new language to learn here???

If you look at any tour book for Melbourne, the first thing mentioned to visit are the laneways and coffee shop. Imagine being in China where coffee doesn't meet his standards?

I always found the way American guys try to get girls was a bit aggressive. The Aussie comes in, sees the spider and says "that's it? That meant "let's get a drink this afternoon." It's hilarious. He wore his thongs to climb to the Great Wall of China, on the beaches of Indonesia, motorbiking and even to sporting matches. The American boys love to play games with girls, and the whole grinding thing? The flirting/hooking up game was so different in Australia! Americans drink to get drunk and go out, Aussies love a beer with almost anything and drink because they mostly enjoy the taste (they just get hammered in process of enjoying all this grog! Also, the whole "Live to work - Work to live" mentality is so noticeably different between the two cultures. " Everyone knows that Australia has some wild and terrifying creatures that are ultimately out to kill you, so the tiny and unintimidating insects here are nothing to the Aussie kind. I don't get it nor will I ever understand it, but after moving to the States, the Aussie misses his Vegemite. It's like they shorten all their words because they don't have enough time to formulate full sentences! Anyways, let's be real, my man does follow the Aussie stereotypes -- Blonde hair, surfer, beach bum, makes a mean BBQ, loves a good beer, and rides a kangaroo to work! And hey, he can easily play off as my hero when he catches a spider! To this day, I am pretty sure I haven't really listened to what the Aussie has been saying. He can say, "I just made a few cheese curds in my pants while kissing a whale" and I am here like Aussie boys are incredibly loyal to their footy team. I hear choosing footy teams can make or break a relationship. Yes, there are vegetarian Australians, but after dating my Aussie and meeting most of his friends, every meal required some sort of meat (mostly BBQ of sorts) otherwise it was considered as just an appetizer.

I once thought I could surprise my man with a really delicious bean soup for dinner, only to hear "but where's the chicken? I, being one of the Americans that fell in love with his accent, obviously, but the Aussie will go to the bar, smile at someone (being nice, not flirty) and they will nod and turn back to their friends. : exlamation of approval, encouragement Barf: vomit Beaut: anything exceptional Beauty: an exlamation of approval Betcha: contraction of bet you Bickies: biscuits, cookies Blimey! : expression of fustration, anger, amazement Bludge: do nothing, be lazy Bludger: 1. exclamation of amazement Booze: alcoholic drink Bugger: exclamation of annoyance Bugger me dead: exclamation of amazement Bugger off: go away Buggered: 1. : stop talking nonsense Cunt: anything exasperating or annoying Dinkum: genuin, real, cannot be faulted Drongo: stupid, unintelligent person Dunny: toilet Durrey: hand rolled cigarette 'em: contraction of them Fair dinkum: 1. genuin, real Fair go: an appeal or plea for fair treatment or reason Feral: disgusting, gross G'day: contraction of good day Grog: alcohol There are some words i'll add more as soon as i can.

We dated for two years and broke up when we were 11. Everyone at the time was like, 'You're so lucky you kissed Brad Pitt,' but I thought it was disgusting.
